Sony Xperia Z3 model unveiled at IFA 2014, promising high performance, integration with PlayStation 4, IP68 certification, and a long battery life. If its easy to belive Sony when it talks about performance, service, resistance to water and dust when it comes to battery, the situation is slightly different. Well, now that the phone has come into the hands of the users, the company’s statements were put to test.

Luckily for Sony, it seems that the engineers who worked on Z3 managed to do a great job, outperforming all other competitors, becoming the top smartphone with the best battery life. In tests which involves web site navigation that brought results for 5 hours and 20 minutes of battery life for iPhone 6, and 7 hours and 38 minutes for the Samsung Galaxy S5, the new Sony Xperia Z3 ran for 9 hours and 29 minutes after a full charge. We have to say that Sony Xperia Z3 has the best battery life.
His younger brother, Z3 Compact managed to beat this record, providing over 13 hours of use on the same endurance test. This was so unusual that site decided to remove the result from the table and retake the test. Obviously, the fact that Z3 Compact offers a smaller display of 4.6 ” and 1280 x 720 resolution helps a lot, but the optimization of the software and hardware from Sony is by far the one that makes the difference from other smartphones with similar specifications.

It seems that the decision to keep the Full HD resolution on Z3 model brought the  company  anticipated benefits. When asked about why they did not choose a QHD panel, the Sony responded that battery life is more important than raising the resolution. It remains npw to wait the official release dates for the two devices, with an official announcement about the prices.
